Production and synopsis

The production crew includes Broadway vet director, Christopher Ashley, actor/writer, Mike O’Malley and My Name is Earl writer Greg Garcia are also collaborating for an “Escape to Margaritaville” book.

The musical will be a creative setting with the ocean themed, beach-like place that has, as a backdrop, sunny and island paradise setting. All too familiar? Yes, because it revolves around the famous Buffet song, according to Playbill.com.

With the setting like this, it’ll make you want to sing in the audience as ‘city folk do’ in order to ‘get away from it all’ while the trouble making locals get away with their ‘sweet talk’. The main storyline is about a bartender and singer, whom are both part-time, with a full-time character named Tully; he’s the sweet-talker who is considered the know-it-all or one who has life under control, or ‘figured out.’ But then, a beautiful, modern, career-minded traveler/tourist sways in and forces him to question life in general, while charming him and stealing his heart.
