Stephen Murray of CCMP Capital was a True Professional

It was sad news for many that Stephen (Steve) P. Murray passed away recently after battling long time ill health. His role at CCMP Capital was president and chief executive officer. Steve was 52 at the time of his passing. He was born in August, 1962, reportedly being raised in Westchester County, New York, and losing his battle with his illness in March, 2015.

Professional leverage for transactions that focuses on growth capital and buyout. When Stephen passed on as their president and CEO, he was with the company for than two decades. His role provided him to engage as a private equity investor. Due to his declining health, Mr. Murray stepped down from his vital role as CEO about a month prior to his death.

Stephen Murray graduated with a degree in economics in 1984 from Boston College and went to the Columbia Business School, earning his business administration degree in 1989. With his goals aimed at success, Mr. Murray joined the JP Morgan Partners within the same year.

He had remained with them until it became what is now known as CCMP Capital after the partnership separated from JP Morgan Chase. Before joining JP Morgan, Steve was the vice president of Manufacturers Hanover in the Middle-Market Lending Division.

With his professional stature, Stephen Murray was director for several various companies like Noble Environment Power, Quiznos Subs, Caremore Medical Enterprise, AMC Entertainment Inc., Jetro Holdings, Warner Chilcott Limited, Aramark Corporation, Strongwood Insurance and Generac Power Systems. This prestigious and professional man was quite the asset not only in his private but also his business life. He was extremely driven and made a success out of his life, cut down much too soon. Chairman Greg Brenneman took over in Stephen’s capacity after his unfortunate passing. His colleagues were extremely distraught about the passing of this great man, expressing deep condolences to his wife Tami and their four children, residing in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Murray’s family brought him great pride. Mr. Brenneman and Mr. Murray were good friends and partners at CCMP Capital.

Stephen Murray had a goal for success in the business world and proved his achievements by leading the company into a multi-billion dollar firm. He worked hard throughout his life, climbing the ladder of success to meet the goals he set for himself as a young man and for his family.
