“I’m not a why guy, I’m a why not guy.”
Greg Secker followed an unorthodox path to his position as founder of Learn to Trade. Prior to his time with Thomas Cook Financial Services he was an agriculture and food science major at University of Nottingham. It was through his hobby and side business of building and selling computers and a bit of fortune that ultimately led to his entry into the financial industry. While working on the Virtual Trading Desk the young entrepreneur learned about foreign exchange trading strategies on the trading floor. His work on the Virtual Trading Desk earned him the British Telecom Award for innovation in e-commerce in 1998.
By the time Secker turned 25 he became Vice President at Mellon Financial Corporation. In 2003 Secker retired from Mellon Financial Corporation to operate as a full time forex trader out of his living room. After building an adequate fortune Greg Secker retired from trading to instead teach what he had learned. The Greg Secker Foundation is intended to grant young people with personal and financial lessons. These life lessons create the financial stability to encourage a new generation of entrepreneurs. In addition to speaking arrangements the foundation has also worked towards providing carbon neutral homes in the Philippines after the country was ravaged by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.
Building upon his accomplishments as a speaker Greg Secker has authored multiple books. His first, Financial Freedom Through Forex is a comprehensive beginner’s guide on currency markets. Greg Secker is also a contributing author on The Book Of Success: Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Success While many would point the the wealth Secker has generated throughout his career as a forex trader his selection for the “200 Most Influential Philanthropists and Social Entrepreneurs” is a more complete portrayal of his career accomplishments.
